Ayee now tell my good people who are you and where your from. 

My name is Smiff, I’m an independent artist from Roanoke, Va.

Roanoke, Virginia! I bet people are wondering where that is. Well believe it or not, it's not too far from where I grew up myself. I played so much travel ball in Roanoke, I tell ya. I like it though, nice area. How did you get into the music scene?

I first got into music by battling at the lunch table in middle school. Then I started meeting different people and that turned into going to the studio.   

Would you make this a career?

That’s the goal, being able to sustain/improve my lifestyle off music and building a brand.

What made you take it seriously?

Because I promised myself I would give it a real shot at creating a buzz and growing fan base. Plus, I love what I do.

If it’s one thing you could change in this industry, what would it be?

How predatory it is. Someone is always looking to exploit the artist.

Your right though. How is the music scene in your city? Anything different compared to other places you’ve been or seen?

I would say the music scene is growing. Over the years I’ve noticed more and more acts but the lack of media outlets stifle artists who don’t utilize the internet correctly or travel outside the city.

Who is your top artist right now?

Smiff 

Alright alright, I love that. Someone who has confidence and believes in themselves. The first fan you as an artist should have is yourself as well as the first critic. Do you feel music has changed your life? If so, how?

Yes, by giving me an alternative way of expressing myself. 

What do you do outside of the music scene? 

• Breed frenchies
• Car enthusiast 
• Coffee drinker 
• Travel 
• Shop for fly shit

Coffee drinker is so funny, you said it as a hobby but I so felt that. What would you tell your younger self? 

Be consistent. Learn discipline. 

Something people don’t know about you. 

I can manipulate my dreams. Whenever I’m dreaming, I’m aware of it and I’m able to really have fun because I know it’s a dream. Even if I wake up in the middle of the night I can lay back down and slip back into the same dream where I left off. 

Your special, you know that? Not many people can do that. I can though. And I read on it years ago and only God's favorites can do certain things pertaining to dreams. It's amazing. So, one last thing before we get out of here. Are you dropping anything soon?
