Heyyy yall Ace back with another oneeee! I have a special guest with me today. Yall ready to see who it is? I know I'm excited to hear his story. Let me get my drink and ice, tall get the papers or woods and let's get it.

Okayyy sir tell the ppl who are you? Tell us where you from.

Who am I? I’m Markuz Kt, real name Marquis. I’m from Lynchburg South Carolina.

You currently live in SC?

No. I live in Virginia now.

How did you get into the music scene?

I got into music at a young age alongside my brother. Being young and watching my brother do music was phenomenal to me. What really gave me courage to try it was when I seen my uncles talent show on a VCR tape. It was him and his close cousin name Junior. I thought so much about that tape that I drilled it in my head that I could see myself doing what they were doing. Later on as I got older my brother would take me to the studio with him to record music but I didn’t know much about it at that time. How he introduced me to being in a studio and how it felt to rap on a mic and hearing the final scene was crazy.  I would be in class and at home just writing, couldn’t wait to hit the studio again but things changed.

Would you make this a career?

I’ve always love music since I was younger. I most definitely would make it a career.

What made you take it seriously?

I started taking music seriously because I felt I needed to change the narrative of my life and so as my family. I know deeply inside it would work eventually if I kept working on my craft and be consistent. Watching my family suffer from property numerous of times gave me the fire to keep going, it’s like watching a herd of cows die with no help or guidance.

If it’s, one thing you could change in this industry what would it be?

I really can’t speak on what needs to be changed because I haven’t seen what’s really happening behind the scenes.

How is the music scene in your city? Anything different compared to other places you’ve been or seen?

Some people would say the music scene in my city and the surrounding areas are corrupted and I said that because you have some artist who is competing with each other, rather learn, and not working together to accomplish the same outcome which is establishing yourself as an artist. But I think most artist from the surrounding areas and my town are territorial, mostly because they are afraid for someone to outdo them on a song or whatever it may be.

Who is your top artist right now?

Mainstream, my top artist is Kevin Gates NoCap and Lil Poppa. As for the local it’s a few I would say.

Has music changed your life? If so, how?

Music has changed my life in a way that made me open up about certain events that took place in my life and currently speaking on some as is. I can honestly say that it gave me the push that I needed, when I looked back at where I came from when I first started music it’s a big difference between then and now. I get motivation when I’m listening to one of my songs and compared them from then and now it's almost like re-introducing myself to me.

What do you do outside of the music scene?

Outside of music I really spend most of my time learning tangible information, or even teach myself new skills.

What would you tell your younger self?

I will definitely tell my younger self to not trust a lot of people. Don’t believe everything you hear and trust your gut. Life is what you make of it, you are the source of your own destiny. You shouldn’t care about someone else opinion because at the end of  day you have to live with yourself.

Something people don’t know about you.

I wasn’t always the person I am today I can say I definitely elevated. Mentally, physically, and spiritually.

You dropping anything soon?

Most definitely will be dropping more music right after I complete my EP. I’m also looking to network with different individuals including looking forward to doing interviews and showing a different side of myself that I haven’t shown. Just be patient with me and support the process.

Well there yall have it, Markuz KT. I hope yall enjoyed hearing his story as much as I did. I look forward to your project dropping Friday. Yall do me a favor and check out some of his videos below and his Instagram Page.
