Heyyyy yall it's Ace back with another one. Guess who we have today? La Up1 from Dallas, Texas. He's my first Texas artist to be on the rocks. Let's get into it. I'm ready to learn more about this Texas music scene. I got the drinks of course. 

Okay La Up1 tells us who are you and where you from.

I go by La Up1, I'm a rapper straight out Dallas Tx, 214 sh*t.

Dallas is definitely my next stop. I've only been to Houston. How did you get into the music scene? 

I always had love for art whether it was music, drawing, writing etc. But what really made me take music seriously was after my uncle passed in 2018. He made music himself. I remember he would let me, and my brother listen to his CDs, 2 years after we lost him, I made a song about him and Instagram went crazy, ever since then I knew this was what I was destined to do.

That's lit. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad you used that as motivation. Would you make this a career?

Most definitely I fell in love with it. If we being real it's all I think about, I eat sleep and breathe music.

What made you take it seriously beside when your uncle passed?

Like I said before my uncle passing away but also all the love I had been receiving while I was in my triller posting stage. The fact people would reach out and tell me how hard I was and that I don't sound like everybody else in my city. 

If it’s one thing you could change in this industry, what would it be?

Probably how mainstream artists sell dreams to underground artists they could see you on the grind and hungry but shiesty when it comes to showing love, a double tap go a long way and take no more than 2 seconds.

Thats the one there. I have noticed that over the past 2 years. It's crazy and I will never understand it. How is the music scene in your city? Anything different compared to other places you’ve been or seen? 

The music scene in my city is different than other places I seen. I think we all hungry and talented, we just can't get along for shit. And like I preach all the time it's power in numbers “if one of us go up we can help the next artists go up” but it be too much pride involved. Love the music scene in my city though, Dallas been full of talent.

Yeah, I agree. I think that's the problem with a lot of talented cities. When everything come together it would be a powerhouse. If it’s, one thing you could do What would you do for the music scene in your city to help? 

Do more cyphers and group projects I feel like once they realize what we can do together its over for these other cities, because Dallas got some raw artist it's just a lot of mindset development that need to be put into play.

That's an amazing idea. Who is your top artist right now? 

Mainstream it always been G Herbo and Polo G, Polo always been my dream collaboration he still in my top 2 till this day. 

Really? That would be dope! Do you feel as if music has changed your life? If so, how? 

I'll say music has changed my confidence, it became a way for me to express my emotions whether I'm pissed off, hurt etc. it became therapy.

What do you do outside of the music scene?

I just started writing shit other than music like short stories I plan on pursuing that also. 

That's cool, you definitely should look into that forreal. What would you tell your younger self? 

You got no reason feel like you beneath these niggas most these niggas put on a mask and behind closed doors they got it worse than you do. YOU ARE HIM!!!

What's something people don’t know about you. 

I can sing my ass off man. I just choose not to but in the future, I will incorporate it in my music too.

You dropping anything soon? 

Yes, I plan on dropping my visuals to my COBRA remix and i went all out with this one it's a movie.
